3. All muslim schools and institutions in Uganda must have a clear indentity as a Muslim school / institution to refl ect and embrace the Islamic way of life at all times.
a. School symbols such as school name, school badge, school moto and anthem should always refl ect Muslim identity and culture.
b. The school must have a well defi ned curriculum to teach their religion and facilitate them to practice it while at school. A mosque or designated prayer place must be provided.
c. The students should be taught the Arabic language to enhance their understanding of the Quran & other sources of Islamic teachings in the Arabic language.
d. The school uniform for both boys and girls must fi t the prescribed code of dress according to teaching of the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad (SAW).
e. Co-curricular activities such as games and sports, club activities and cultural activities at school should also be designed and conducted in such a way as to promote and protect the image and the core values of Islam.
5. All head teachers and deputy head teachers of Muslim founded schools must be practicing muslims with sound knowledge of Islam, high moral standing and a good record of professional conduct. Consequently therefore, deployment, replacement, transfer and new posting by the ministry of education and sports or district education service shall be done in consultation with UMEA.
7. The head teacher in a Muslim school is responsible for training, coaching, mentoring and developing the young teachers under his/her charge into leaders as a way of building a human resource base for Muslim education managers in the country.
9. All Muslim schools must be active members of UMTA and encourage all Muslim teachers in their schools to join UMTA as a way of forging unity among the Muslim teachers and promote team work and brotherhood in Islam.
11. All Muslim schools must participate and facilitate all UMEA/UMTA organized activities such as joint mocks, games and sports, workshops and seminars. These activities are key in uplifting the general education standards of Muslim schools, promoting the visibility of UMEA/UMTA and the Muslim schools, creating a sense of community, brotherhood and unity, and inspiring the communties and especially the young generation to identify with and support their schools.
